What the estimate means
The heuristic treats 50 to 450 words as roughly one page and 451 to 900 as roughly two. Longer text is labelled two or more pages. These are editing prompts, not measured page counts. Fonts, margins, headings, bullets, and spacing can change the result considerably. A short text can still span several pages if its layout is loose.
Check the actual page count in your word processor or saved PDF before applying. LegalCV flags formatted downloads over two pages, but does not cut content or shrink type to make them fit. Follow a specific employer’s instructions even when they differ from a general one- or two-page target.
A short review checklist
- Use section order that suits the application, and put newer entries first within each section.
- Keep dates, headings, spacing, and body text readable and consistent.
- Verify credentials, admissions, and any jurisdiction-specific status.
- Cut repeated descriptions before cutting useful context.
- Remove client identifiers, confidential details, and unnecessary personal information.
- Inspect page breaks and the saved file. Follow the employer’s accepted file types.
What LegalCV does and does not do
The formatter organizes information you already supply and offers Classic, Modern, and Minimal PDFs. It does not verify credentials or predict an application’s outcome. It is independent of law firms and employers. Formatting requires uploading a file; this text checker does not.
